The back-lit LCD screen stays on for 6 seconds after releasing the trigger, and has ample brightness to read it nicely low or no lighting.
There is a display for the numbers, whether it is in Celsius or Fahrenheit, Scanning or displaying a temperature, and if the laser is on.
Below the LCD screen are buttons to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit, and to turn the laser on and off.
The horizontal viewing angle of the LCD screen is pretty good for reading the temperature.
I was able to read it all the way up until the bezel blocked the view.
The vertical viewing angle is nowhere near as good as the horizontal. Being too far below a 90 degree angle the numbers get scrambled and
Too far above 90 degrees causes everything to disappear.
