NZXT Source 530 Tower Case Review

The Intro:

What can you say about a company like NZXT? They’ve taken a serious step away from their stigma of making futuristic, alien looking cases. I think they’ve seen the light. There will always be some computer enthusiasts that like a good alien case. But, for the rest of us, there needs to be something other than alien! Enter cases like the H630, using a similar chassis to the Phantom 630. NZXT has hedged their bet, by offering both the clean H630 AND alien Phantom 630. Today, we will be looking at another split personality case. Strip away the alien looking plastic of the Phantom 530 and you have the basis to build the Source 530. Included in the similarities are features that will appeal to all enthusiasts. Fitment for large radiators and fans, modular drive cages, filtered intakes, room for the longest GPUs, room for hidden wire management, and the list goes on.

  1. Love me some NZXT. even the stock fans aren’t terrible from my experience (worth upgrading but not bad in a pinch) and this case has a ton of potential for modding or just the every day enthusiast!
    great review! well done.

  2.  A great review.  I have been wanting this case ever since it came out.  And if you order this through the NZXT Armory Store, for $5 you can order the Grommet kit for all the wire holes.  Definitely a home run from NZXT!

  3. Nice review Greg! It certainly looks like a phaontom 530 once all the panels are removed… just a little more stripped out (no gromets, for example). It’s a pretty sweet case!

  4. Great review Greg, I love that NZXT uses a modular approach to their cases and the fact that all of them have certain common feature set.

I also love the fact that NZXT thinks about the water coolers and not just air coolers.
