Hello Modzoo-members and welcome to my second worklog here of my new project Odyssey!

This is a very special build to me, as I participate as a beta tester on the HEX-GEAR R40. The case has very good quality and unique design. I'm so excited to get my hands on it!
Hans Peder Sahl “p0Pe” & Nate George “E22″ has made this incredible case and I thank them for this opportunity.

Check out the website they made! http://www.hex-gear.com/

The case (original in white) will have a white outside and dark inside, with light blue accent pack for the hexagons. The hardware and watercooling will feature black, chromed and crystal blue.

Radiator and fan mounting, 360 in the top and 240 in the bottom. The best part with this case is that you can switch around the place and make it how you like it. There is also possibilities to go with rATX if you want, but there will be some extra mounting for that in the HEX GEAR store.

The whole case is a mix between aluminium, steel and plexi. The motherboard tray is made out of 1,5mm steel and the aluminium plates such as the top, bottom and the doors are made out of 2mm aluminium. The price isnt official yet but it will cost less than 200 GBP :)

Well you started the log with a pic of a cat on the box, and that is all I need to be interested in it. The case looks interesting, looking forward to the build.

Who doesnt love cats? Or in fact, they are impossible to get rid of when its "unboxing-time". Glad to hear that!

With the way it is manufactured can you put it together as an inverted layout?

Thank you :) The case is really well planned, a pleasure to work with.  :D

Yes but there will be a small mod to do it, not that hard. I think they will offer it in the shop aswell :)

Hi Mod zoo

I hope you all had a great holiday and a happy new years eve. Since everyone has been taking some break from work Ive been waiting most of the time for parts to arrive. Now everyone is back at work, and me back at school but atleast I can start building soon!

I figured out I would to something with the case today so I spray painted to motherboard tray and sanded the attached panel to it. I think there will be a good contrast with the black tray. I chose to go with glossy black to fit the finish of the white powder coat.

The black plexi panels are soon going to be replaced by frosted light blue instead :) Cant wait for that to arrive!

The small panel needs some more sanding, I just removed the coat to get a small overview of it.

I still haven't decided if I should put the PSU in the top or not. Hmm..

Will do another update soon, I heard that my radiators are arriving tomorrow! :)
