Once upon a time, in the year 1997, a game was released that changed the world (Yeah, I know, back then EVERY game changed the world). Drawing on the setting and situations described in the movie DeathRace 2000, this game paved the way for games like GTA and Postal - Allowing the players to embrace the needless gore and violence with a heavy dose of humor that made HOURS, DAYS and WEEKS vaporize. That game was Carmageddon and in the last few years, the original creators were able to buy back the rights to their game so they may bring it forth once again to a whole new world as Carmageddon - Reincarnation. And the first tastes are as delicious as I remember. Available now on steam as an Early Access game, I can report that the feel of the game is as spot on as an early Alpha can be, and they are updating and fixing fairly regularly. As a gamer, this provides the kind of experience I crave - Fast, full of action and non-stop fun. As a fan of the series, this is a wonderful update that manages where so many other updates have failed - It FEELS the same! So, for any of the fans of the original, what do you think? For racing fans, does the 'ultimate destruction derby' aspect hold any interest for you? And for modders, I'm sure there's going to be TONS of material in the game to inspire folks for many years to come! What do YOU think?
