It`s an interesting amalgam of a few other case designs.Always fun stripping something to the bones.. I had my thoughts and ideas on this case. What will prevail.

The three of us met in Mosquito's workshop to record more progress on the "MZ-2" Origin Genesis PC. We agreed the build should have Mod Zoo Munky signature. The lower bezel cover appeared to be the best location of the Mod Zoo Munky case badge (on my cap) Mosquito cut opening in the bezel with his Scroll saw while Captain Curry Sauce trimmed a piece of Honeycomb Modders Mesh to be mounted on the backside of the bezel opening.

We're using Honeycomb Modder's Mesh (79% airflow) is 22 gauge perforated plain steel. 1/4" hexagon holes with 9/32" staggered centers and can be used for creating PC Intake Grills, Fan Grills or radiator grills.

ScotchWeld DP-190 2 part epoxy was used to attached the mesh to the backside of the bezel. Allow this to cure for 24 hours.

We're not dismantling the chassis, leaving it in stock condition. If you're having any troubles, you can ask Origin to email you PDF detailed instructions on the chassis assembly.

We all agreed that the Genesis reminded us of an Exotic Sportscar. Captain Curry Sauce suggested adding hood style vents to the door. I looked into adapting something that already existed from a car, but nothing fit the scale of the door. I started creating louvers from Smoked Cast Acrylic on Sunday. I used Weld-On for Acrylic to join the pieces, after cutting them with vertical saw (raw edges will be sanded before paint) The door will have rectangular openings for the louvers, which will be mounted on inside of the door, not on surface as shown here.

Here is the cut-outs for the acrylic louvered vents I created for the Genesis front door. I'm still filing the sides of the openings and corners at this stage. Next stage will be sanding the edges and the entire door, before I epoxy in the louvers to backside.

I use 1.5" Dremel Reinforced Cutting Wheels to cut the rectangular openings, http://mnpctech.com/pc-mod-tools/cutting-wheels.html

So, I've been kick'n back watching †his as it progresses, I get the emails. must say it's look'n great guys. Want to add that I appreciate the exploded case white board layout you posted. Something I've not seen much of, personally, from modders. Have seen many cases broken down, It's a great reference to look back on, as you progress with this. The black parts on whiteboard - Tits fellas. Keep up the great work primates ;)

@Dooglo, I made the frame work from acrylic I measured and cut. Weld-On 3 is the perfect cement for bonding acrylic.

"A high-strength, fast drying, clear, and water thin acrylic cement. Weld-On 3 is very fast drying and may blush under humid conditions. Always test your application for blushing (clouding) before finalizing glue choice, especially if an aesthetic seam is critical. "

@LN, It's the most complex assembled case I've seen to date. Luckily we agreed on keeping the main portion factory matte finish

@Mike, The genesis is a refreshing change from other towers. You would really appreciate it, but once you dig in, you understand that OriginPC never intended for their customers to dismantle it. We see that as challenge!

Great work Bill!  That louver setup is coming along awesome.

BTW, I figured out removing the bottom.  Had to remove the HDD cage (Hot pluggable SATA Carriage) to get to the screws below that in the front.  There are 4 screws in the front (1 on each side and two in the middle), 3 screws in the back (1 on each side and 1 in the middle) and 4 screws at the rear lower sides (2 on each side).  I removed the front plastic to do this but that was in finding the screws.  I don't think the front has to be removed to remove the bottom though.

Thank you for sharing the details Chris! We hope this log serves as resource for others who purchase the Genesis and Millenium case.

I scuffed the surface with 3M Red Scotchbrite Pad before masking off the front bezel with 3M Scotch 233+ Green Masking tape. before applying Black Primer coat yesterday.

Next week we'll prep and paint the case with final color coat

Guilty as charged.

I think so far we are on the right track for this build, and making great progress.

Hopefully we shall be making more progress soon.
